Prophecy Quotation
Odds against any one person fulfilling Messianic prophecy are Astronomical!
In his book, “Science Speaks – An Evaluation of Certain Christian Evidences,” Professor Peter Stoner mathematically calculates the probability of any one person in history accurately fulfilling only eight of Scripture’s 300-350 Messianic prophecies at 1 in 1017 (10 with seventeen zeros!). The probabilities are so astronomically impossible, the mathematical calculation of the odds of the remaining 290 to 320 prophecies is pointless and unnecessary
Science hasn’t mastered Bible prophecy
“Science has not yet mastered prophecy. We predict too much for the next year and yet far too little for the next ten.”–
Neil Armstrong, –Astronaut, First man on the moon
Bible prophecy is Literal
“You have to take Bible prophecy literally, just like everything else in the Bible.”–
Tim LaHaye, Christian Author — Left Behind Series
Four criteria that must be met by true Bible Prophecy:
Beyond the power of man to foresee
Precedes the specifically applicable event
Given in unambiguous and unmistakable language
Clear and demonstrable fulfillment
H.W. Everest, “The Divine Demonstration” – (1972, pg. 260):
Disbelief in Bible prophecy
“If you are an antichrist, you won’t believe in the bible prophecy from the beginning. Which means, you won’t believe that physical immortality will become possible.” –
Alex Chiu, Christian Author
Even in the face of proof, many refuse to believe
“Even after Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, theystill would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah theprophet: ‘Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the armof the Lord been revealed?’ For this reason they could not believe, because,as Isaiah says elsewhere: ‘He has blinded their eyes and hardened theirhearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with theirhearts, nor turn—and I would heal them.’”
John 12:37-40 NIV
100% Accurate Bible Prophecy proves Divine Authority!
“Prophecy is the ability to predict future events 100% accuracy. Only God can do this. Each of the false religions and cults has a story about how things were created and how the world will end. Any good science fiction writer can do this with ease. But when we look at the holy books of these religious bodies, do any of them have historically verifiable prophecies written centuries ago but fulfilled in our lifetime? Only one holy book does that. It is the Bible!” –
Ken Johnson, Christian Author
Bible Prophecy is not back-dated History
“If you attempt to explain away fulfilled bible prophecy as nothing more than back-dated history lessons, how do you account for the mountains of archaeological evidence showing that the Old Testament texts pre-date the historical events they chronicle?” –
Britt Gillette, Christian Author
Bible Prophecy is the story of tomorrow
“If you want to know what happened yesterday, read the newspaper; if you want to know what happened today, listen to the evening news; if you want to know what will happen tomorrow, read the Bible.” –
Mark Hitchcock, Christian Author
God has a plan for your future
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
Prophecy is History Unfulfilled
“Prophecy is history unfulfilled, and history is prophecy fulfilled.” –
D.L. Moody, Author, Theologian, Evangelist, Publisher 1837-1899
From beginning to end, God’s purpose will be accomplished
“Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,”
Isaiah 46:10 ESV
“…Of approximately 2,500 Biblical prophecies, about 2,000 have already been fulfilled to the
letter with no errors. The remaining 500 future prophecies are largely found in the Book of
Revelation — and refer to End Time events. Since fulfilled prophecies are largely independent
of one another, the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance, without error,
is less than one in 10 2,000 (10 with 2,000 zeros!)”
